What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Symptoms of COVID-19 can be
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Fatigue (constant tiredness)
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
COVID-19 symptoms usually appear within 2-14 days after exposure to the coronavirus. Some people exposed to the coronavirus never develop symptoms of COVID-19. However, they may still be able to infect others.
You can also continue to have symptoms or develop new symptoms after you’re no longer sick with the coronavirus. This is called long-haul COVID-19 or post-COVID syndrome. Symptoms of long-haul COVID-19 vary and can last weeks, months or even years.
