Visiting the Hudson Hospital Emergency Center

When the unexpected happens, we’re ready. As a designated Level IV Trauma Center, we provide high quality medical services and personalized care to our patients in Hudson and throughout the St. Croix Valley.

Our board-certified emergency medicine doctors specialize in treating a wide range of emergency conditions, and are the same world class physicians who serve at the Regions Hospital Emergency Center in St. Paul. We’re also prepared to coordinate air and ground transport to partnering hospitals if a higher level of care is needed.

If you or a loved one are facing an emergency, call 911 immediately.

Bringing a patient to the Emergency Center

When an illness or injury isn’t life threatening, many patients choose to drive to the Emergency Center instead of calling an ambulance. If this is the case, we always encourage a loved one to drive.

If you need a wheelchair or help walking in from the car, please call ahead and a staff member will meet you at the Emergency Center entrance. You can reach us at 715-531-6000.

Visit our Directions & Parking page for more detailed information on navigation and parking.

What to bring

If there’s time, bringing some essentials can help speed up the emergency care process. Try to bring:

  • A copy of the patient’s health insurance information
  • A list of the patient’s previous medical problems, diagnoses, allergies or recent medical tests
  • A current list of the patient’s medicines
  • The patient’s glasses, prescriptions and photo ID

When a patient arrives

When you arrive, a nurse will check your vital signs, evaluate your condition and ask you about your health history. This ensures that patients with the most serious illnesses or injuries will be seen first. Patients with an emergency medical condition (such as severe bleeding, severe breathing problems, stroke) will be seen immediately.

Visitor information

We are currently limiting patients to one adult visitor per day. No visitors are allowed for patients with COVID-19. Exceptions to these policies include:

  • Newborn, special care nursery and pediatric patients: Parents and/or legal guardians (COVID-19 patients: only one person)
  • Birth center patients: One support person, including a doula (COVID-19 patients: only one person)
  • Patients who need additional assistance: A caregiver or attendant
  • Compassionate care patients (end-of-life patients)

If you need help finding a patient, ask for help at the information desk or call 715-531-6000.

We’re encouraging patients to find other ways to connect with their loved ones, such as FaceTime, Skype or setting up Google Duo (PDF). Our patient care teams can help arrange video chats and more.
