Neonatal Virtual Care Services
Your newborn is never far away from highly specialized care. We offer state-of-the-art neonatal virtual care at Hudson Hospital Birth Center through a partnership with newborn care specialists at Children’s Minnesota Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Neonatal virtual care brings specialty care to our patients when and where it is needed most. If your baby is born early or experiences unexpected medical complications after delivery, your baby’s care team may choose to consult with Children’s newborn care specialists. Using a specialized telemedicine cart with secure audio/visual technology, a Children’s newborn specialist will be virtually present at your baby’s bedside. Clinicians from Hudson Hospital and Children’s Minnesota will work together to quickly treat your baby. All final care decisions will be made by your baby’s physician.
Lactation Program
Breastfeeding is natural, but it doesn’t always come naturally. That’s why we developed the Lactation Program at Hudson Hospital Birth Center. This program supports families in their breastfeeding or breast milk feeding goals.
We provide prenatal breastfeeding classes that teach the benefits of breastfeeding for mom and baby, positioning techniques, partner’s involvement and information about choosing and using a breast pump. We also offer in-patient support from lactation-certified nurses, as well as support by phone or appointment when you return home, so you can be sure that your newborn is eating enough.
We offer prenatal classes throughout the St. Croix Valley to help prepare new parents for life with their little one. In our childbirth classes, you’ll learn about everything from the physical and emotional changes during pregnancy to childbirth and caring for your baby when you return home.
